Johnny Cash “Farther Along”

Official music video for "Farther Along," from Johnny Cash and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's 2020 album. Sony Music's brief was simple: something dark and moody. The piece needed to sit naturally alongside Cash's existing visual anthology — which meant the style and narrative had to genuinely honor the Cash estate.

That led to a period of research and reflection on Cash's biography and legacy, out of which came a loose allegorical narrative, a monochromatic palette, and a deliberate balance of heavy expressive abstraction against moments of realism.

The final technique blends traditional drawing media with black-and-white film language and digital techniques — built to carry as much allegory as it does tone and texture, with the story emerging from its own simplicity.
