Graphics package for "Seen & Heard: The History of Black Television," HBO's two-part documentary — executive produced by Issa Rae — tracing the evolution of Black representation on television, from its earliest, often stereotyped portrayals through today's creators reclaiming ownership of the narrative.
Research began in the archive itself — libraries of public access television and original, localized Black broadcast shows, searched for the visual language that would shape the series. From that grounding, a typographic system was built to direct the film's overall tone, paired with photoreal archival recreations that gave rare footage and historical material a cohesive, elevated presentation throughout.
